Find your fight song.
There are days when literally everything seems to go wrong. When you just want to give up, go with the flow, and do whatever's easy even if it doesn't feel right to you. Or it's just one of those days, weeks, months, when you can't really pin point at what sucks, but you know that something sucks. Here's to making your life so much more than the bad days.
1. Fight Song- Rachel Platten
Written by the 35 year old songstress when she was on the verge of giving up on her lifelong dream of making it in the music industry, this literal anthem will pull straight out of the darkness. After all, you may only have one match, but you can make an explosion.
2. Ashayein - Iqbal soundtrack
It's literally about hope. This song and this movie is everything. Honestly.
3. Skyscraper - Demi Lovato
"Go on and try to tear me down, I will keep rising from the ground, like a skyscraper."
It's weird because Lovato sings this song like she's in pain, struggling, but the lyrics aim to inspire. And that's exactly what this song does.
4. Shake It Off - Taylor Swift
She took the hate and literally turned it into a catchy, chart-topping song. Lesson? Shake off the bad vibes and/or make money off it.
5. Robaroo - Rang De Basanti soundtrack
This song had me bawling and smiling at the same time. It's my go-to song whenever my self-esteem hits a low.
6. OUTRO : Wings - BTS
This song was suggested to me by quite possibly one of BTS' BIGGEST fans, so I knew it'd be good. Honestly, even if you don't understand the lyrics, the vibe of this song is will lift you right up.
7. Yeh Hosla - Dor
Another suggestion, I honestly hadn't heard this song till I started working on this list. And it seemed beautifully tailor made, so here it is.
8. Hiding Tonight - Alex Turner, Submarine soundtrack
This song is what I listen to everytime I feel like I'm lagging behind. It's a reminder that's okay to 'hide' for a day, and that tomorrow will be better. Plus, IT'S SO ROMANTIC.
9. Karate - Babymetal
So the same person who got me onto BTS suggested this song to me. Again, even if you don't understand the lyrics (but there's this video with translations), the vibe of the song itself with give you the kickstart you need.
10. Koi Kahe - Dil Chahte Hai soundtrack
No matter how old and tired I feel, this one reminds me that I still have years left to screw up, and to learn from them. Or at the very least it always gets me dancing no matter HOW socially awkward I am.
11. Walk On - U2
It's a classic for a reason.
12. Aazaadiyan - Udaan soundtrack
Freedom. Better tomorrows. Fighting for yourself. Happiness. That's what this beautiful song (and movie) is.
13. Go Now - Adam Levine, 'Sing Street' soundtrack
Easily one of the best songs Adam Levine is associated with (which is saying A LOT), this one will touch every bit of your heart and inspire you, at the very least to go after the one thing you're afraid to.
14. Dil Beparvah - Prateek Kuhad and Ankur Tewari
It's the song I go to everytime I start to beat myself up and start panicking. Soothing, beautiful, and everything you need on a bad day.
15. Brave - Sara Bareilles
I just really, really like the idea of randomly going in the middle of the streets and dancing without a care in the world. Plus, this song gets me happy. It gets most people happy.
16. Don't Stop Believing - Journey
The title of the song is literally 'Don't stop believing'. Need I say more?
17. Chale Chalon - Lagaan
This is the song that got a fictional Indian team that beat a fictional English team at their own game. And honestly, that's enough for me.
18. Song For Survival - 'Little Things' soundtrack
On days when everything feels down and you can't really figure out why, this oddly sweet song works wonders.
19. Afreen Afreen - Coke Studio, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Momina Mustehsan
The song itself is beautifully romantic, but the lyrics aren't really 'motivational'. But there's just something about the harmonies that'll calm you down, if only for a few minutes. And remind you of the beauty in the world.
