READING TIME 2 Minutes
So up until very recently, Ed Sheeran had basically disappeared from social media. We didn't know what was going on with our favourite red head until he started teasing us with new music. And after two loooooong AF years, Ed Sheeran gave us music that was completely worth the wait.
Ed's last big hit (yes, I call him Ed now, we're BFFs in my mind already), was his heart-wrenching "Photograph" way back in May 2015. "Cause I’ve been away for a bit here’s two singles rather than one," Ed wrote on Instagram with snippets of each song. And so, we got "Shape Of You" and "Castle On The Hill."
"Shape Of You" isn't your typical Ed Sheeran song. It's more '"Sing" than "Thinking Out Loud". It's fast-paced, sexy, and it's Ed Sheeran with a twist. I was basically doing the jiggy in my seat while listening to this song.
"Castle On The Hill" is again a fast-paced song, but this one will give you the feels. It has a unique, yet powerful melody that builds into a beautiful, epic chorus in typical Ed Sheeran style. He tells the most heart-wrenching nostalgia-inducing story with this song, and at the end of 4 minutes, I was already dialing the numbers of friends I had lost touch with. It's the perfect song to listen to and get all deep about on your way to work.
These amazing songs will obviously be followed by an album, but so far, Ed hasn't really said much. Given that his last two LPs were called Plus and Multiply, this one just might be called Divide. Goodluck getting Ed out of your head now. #SorryNotSorry
